What are your responsibilities:
*Produce estimates per job specifications and create job specifications when none are available.
*Produce complete, understandable and comprehensive proposals.
*Answer questions that pertain to job spec's, proposals, and Scudder policy where the public is concerned.
*Answer any questions asked by company team members as they apply to Scudder company policy and personnel.
*Train, motivate, hire and lead the sales team.
*Make sure computer estimating program is practical and in use by all of the sales team.
*Help with work-ups and look over sales team estimates and proposals.
*Be here when required to be.
*Smile as much as possible and be happy.
*Be the good guy that I am.
What is your background:
I helped with loading tile roofs for my dad's side jobs at the age of 9. I installed my first portion of a roof at age 13 (which my dad promptly made me pull up and "do it again"). I then joined the roofers and waterproofers union and started roofing for a an actual paycheck in 1978. After that I obtained a journeyman roofing card in 1980 and then went to work for Scudder Roofing in 1985. I began estimating roofs for Scudder in 1998 and became chief estimator in 2002. I became sales manager in November 2003.
Favorite thing about working at Scudder?
I have been given the opportunity to stay in and progress through different levels of a trade which I love to do and which I know a lot about about.
The people are great and the work is close to home.

Hobbies?
Family, softball, fishing, and parties.
